Line Trimmers and Brush Cutters
Line trimmers and brushcutters are available in four configurations:
HOME USE
(20cc, Two Stroke, Light and Manoeuvrable, with Anti-Vibration System)
Many owners like the bent shaft configuration with an engine that is powerful enough for home use and yet light enough for anyone to handle (20cc – 26cc). Bent shaft models run a nylon cutting cord and are not suitable for running a blade or weed-whacker.
MID RANGE
(21.7cc, Two Stroke, Light and Manoeuvrable with Anti-Vibration System, Blade Capable)
These machines have a straight shaft and more powerful engine (21cc – 30cc). They can run a nylon cutting line, blade, or weed whacker. These models are suited to heavier slashing and brushcutting at home or on the farm. Straight shafted Mid-range, and commercial, brushcutters are also available in a multi-tool configuration allowing the fitment of various heads including a chainsaw bar or a hedge trimmer.
COMMERCIAL
(30cc, Two Stroke, Anti-Vibration System, Solid Drive Shaft with self-lubricating bearings, Blade Capable)
These machines are more powerful again with engines in the range of 26cc – 50cc. They are equipped with a solid drive shaft as opposed to a coiled shaft. They are also often constructed with an aluminium gear housing. Other options include handlebar style controls and harnesses to reduce fatigue over extended use.
